Temperatures Soar as Power Outages Continue

Power outages have caused a dangerous situation for Virginians.

Appalachian Power and Virginia Power reports up to 65,000 outages. Heat advisories continued in the eastern half of Virginia Friday and Saturday, where people have suffered lack of power and electricity ever since the derecho storm ravaged the state last June 29th.

Temperatures have already risen to 102 in Richmond and in the 90s for other areas.

DART Rates Most Dangerous Jobs

Interstate Waste Services earned a distinction no business wants to earn. It was named the most dangerous job or workplace in the region.

In an interesting turn two of the nursing homes that reside in the region also made the top ten.

The DART rating is how they come to a consensus about which companies or businesses are the least safe.
